The 13th edition of the Economic Forum of the Indian Ocean Islands (EFIOI) is jointly organised by the Mauritius Chamber of Commerce and Industry (MCCI) and Cap Business Océan Indien.
These general terms and conditions apply to this event and regulate the relationship between the participant and the organisers. By validating their registration, the participants unreservedly agree to the present terms and conditions.


1. Registration fees

Registration fee per participant is € 200 for non-residents and MUR 9,400 (+ VAT) for participants from Mauritius. It includes access to all sessions as defined in the programme, to B2B meetings and The Climate Fresk workshops, opening and closing cocktails, coffee breaks during the three days, as well as transfers from airport to hotel and hotel to airport.

All other activities (sea trips, outings, etc.) organised by partners will be optional and entail additional costs.


2. Cancellation
a. For the participant
Participants will be able to cancel their registration by sending an email at forum2022@feioi.org on 12th of September, 2022, at noon (Mauritian time), at the latest, to get a refund. No refund will be granted if cancellation is notified after this deadline.
b. For the organisers
The organisers reserve the right to cancel the event in case of force majeure. In this case, an official email will be sent to the participants within a reasonable period and the participation fee will be refunded.


3. Sanitary protocol
The event will be organised in compliance with the sanitary protocol which will be in force in Mauritius in October 2022. The organisers commit to taking all the measures deemed necessary to ensure the safety and well-being of all participants and all those involved in the organisation of the forum.
For their part, participants commit to respecting all the sanitary instructions given by the organisers and official representatives at the venue. The participants are invited to seek information regarding the sanitary measures in force in Mauritius before their registration. No refund will be granted if cancellation is due to an inability to comply with these sanitary rules.


If a decision of the Mauritian government leads to the inability to hold the forum as scheduled (case of force majeure), the organisers reserve the right to organise it online. The organisers cannot be held responsible for any inconvenience that may be caused but will do everything they can to adjust the sessions and the sponsorship to this virtual version. Participation fees will not be refunded in this case.


4. Travel and accommodation
The participants to the EFIOI bears the travel costs and costs of stay.


5. Visa procedures
The 13th edition of the EFIOI will be held in Mauritius. Citizens of countries subject to visa requirements should ensure the procedures are initiated at least four weeks before the scheduled departure date.
The organisers will provide participants with an official letter or email to confirm their registration, if necessary.


6. Protection of personal data
Personal data provided during registration can only be accessed by the organisers, who commit to using them only for the 13th edition of the Economic Forum of the Indian Ocean Islands.
Electronic addresses will be used to send emails, newsletters and other communication materials to participants. Certain personal data could be shared with third parties (companies, organisations or individuals) to organise B2B meetings and, more broadly, for networking purposes during the event and after. Any participant, who does not want to share his/her contact details, is invited to inform the organisers by sending an email at forum2022@feioi.org


7. Image rights
The organisers reserve the right to allow the recording of the conferences and other activities during the forum, as well as their dissemination (media, social media and other media) for communication and visibility purposes.
By validating their registration, the participants expressly agree to be interviewed, filmed or photographed in a professional setting. They allow Cap Business Océan Indien and the MCCI to use these materials for promotional purposes.

 

8. Organisers’ liability
If they are compelled to alter the conditions under which the 13th EFIOI is conducted in case of force majeure, the organisers cannot be held responsible for any cancellation fee (trip or accommodation), including taxes related to administrative procedures.
The organisers cannot be held responsible if they are compelled, for reasons beyond their control, to bring changes to such extent that they alter the quality of the sessions (ex. unavailability of some speakers, sanitary restrictions, etc.). In the face of such situations, the organisers reserve the right to postpone the event until further notice, without reimbursing the registration fees.


9. Participants’ liability
The organisers reserve the right to deny access to any participant whose behaviour could disturb the smooth running of the conferences and/or is considered a threat to other participants.
By their registration to the 13th edition of the EFIOI, the participants commit to abiding by the instructions that will be given by the organisers, the unique objective of which is to ensure the safety and well-being of all participants.
